  • Salt Dissolving in Water: Mass & Volume Explained
Dissolving salt in water does not change the mass of the water. The total mass of the salt water solution will be the sum of the masses of the salt and the water. This is because water molecules and salt molecules do not react with each other when they are dissolved together. Instead, the salt molecules simply disperse among the water molecules, creating a homogenous mixture.
