  • Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3): Ionic or Covalent Compound?
Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) is an ionic compound. It consists of positively charged aluminum ions (Al3+) and negatively charged oxide ions (O2-). The electrostatic attraction between these ions holds the compound together.

In contrast, a covalent compound is formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
