  • Understanding pH 7: What Does a Neutral pH Mean?
The pH value of a solution indicates its acidity or alkalinity on a scale from 0 to 14, where:

    - pH < 7: The solution is acidic.

    - pH = 7: The solution is neutral.

    - pH > 7: The solution is basic or alkaline.

Therefore, a pH of 7 indicates that the solution is neutral. This means that the concentration of hydrogen ions (H+) is equal to the concentration of hydroxide ions (OH-) in the solution. In other words, the solution has neither acidic nor basic properties and is considered balanced in terms of acidity and alkalinity.

Examples of substances that have a pH close to 7 include pure water, human blood, and some types of mineral water.
