    Ionic bonds do not show any of the characteristics seen in covalent bonds. This is because ionic bonds are formed by the complete transfer of electrons from one atom to another, resulting in the formation of positively and negatively charged ions. On the other hand, covalent bonds are formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
