  • Density and Liquid Layers: Which Liquid Sinks?
    The layer of liquid with the highest density will be found at the bottom of the beaker. This is because density is a measure of how much mass is packed into a given volume, so a denser liquid will sink below a less dense liquid. For example, if you have a beaker with oil and water, the oil will float on top of the water because it is less dense.
