  • Sulfur States of Matter: Solid, Liquid, and Gas Explained
Sulfur can exist in three different states:

    1) Solid: In its solid state, sulfur forms yellow, brittle crystals. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as carbon disulfide.

    2) Liquid: When heated, sulfur melts into a mobile, yellow-brown liquid.

    3) Gas: Further heating converts liquid sulfur into a yellow-green gas, which has a pungent odor and can be toxic if inhaled.
