Adding distilled water in the conical flask during titration does affect the result. If distilled water is added after the analyte solution has reacted completely with the titrant, then the volume of the titrant required to reach the endpoint will be less than the actual volume required to completely react with the analyte, resulting in an error in the calculation of the analyte concentration.
