  • Phosphoric Acid Titration of Cola: Does Decarboxylation Matter?
Cola soft drinks do not need to be decarbonated to perform phosphoric acid titration. Phosphoric acid is also present in the drink along with carbon dioxide and can be titrated directly by adding a suitable indicator and a base like sodium hydroxide. Decarbonation is not required in this scenario.
