  • Boron: Metal or Metalloid? Understanding Its Properties
Boron does not belong to the metal family.

It is a metalloid, an element that has properties of both metals and nonmetals. Boron is classified as a metalloid because it has some of the physical properties of metals, such as high electrical and thermal conductivity, but it also has some of the chemical properties of nonmetals, such as forming covalent bonds.
