  • Carbon Dioxide Production: Understanding Cellular Respiration
    The main gas that is produced as a byproduct of cellular respiration is carbon dioxide (CO2). During respiration, glucose is broken down and oxygen is used to produce energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). As a result of these chemical processes, carbon dioxide and water are released as waste products.
