  • Ionic Bonds in Sodium Bromide (NaBr): Formation and Properties
    Ionic bond.

NaBr is composed of sodium and bromine atoms. Sodium is a metal, and bromine is a nonmetal. Metals and nonmetals react to form ionic compounds, in which the metal atoms lose electrons to the nonmetal atoms. The resulting positively charged metal ions and negatively charged nonmetal ions are attracted to each other, forming an ionic bond.
