  • Understanding pH Buffers: Maintaining Stable Acidity & Alkalinity
Buffers resist changes in pH levels. These are chemical solutions that can neutralize small amounts of acids or bases, thus maintaining a stable pH level. Buffers are often made up of a weak acid and its salt or a weak base and its salt. They can be used in a wide variety of applications including pharmaceutical formulations, cosmetics and food products.
