  • Argon vs. Nitrogen: Reactivity Explained - Periodic Table
Argon is less reactive than nitrogen.

Argon is a noble gas located in Group 18 (VIIIA) of the periodic table. Noble gases are also known as inert gases because they are extremely unreactive. They have complete valence electron shells and do not tend to gain or lose electrons.

Nitrogen, on the other hand, is a nonmetal located in Group 15 (VA) of the periodic table. Nitrogen is more reactive than argon because it has an incomplete valence electron shell and readily gains electrons. It is commonly found in a variety of compounds, including nitrogen gas (N2), ammonia (NH3), nitrates (NO3-), and proteins.
