  • Sublimation of Carbon Dioxide: Converting Dry Ice to Gas
You can change carbon dioxide from a solid (dry ice) to a gas (carbon dioxide gas) by increasing its temperature. This can be done by leaving dry ice out at room temperature, placing it in a warm area, or heating it directly with a heat source like a stove or fireplace. As carbon dioxide absorbs heat, it turns from a solid to a gas without going through the liquid phase. This is known as sublimation.
