  • NF3 Molecular Geometry: Understanding the Shape & Bonding
The shape of the NF3 molecule is trigonal pyramidal. This is because the three fluorine atoms bonded to the central nitrogen atom create a tetrahedral electron pair geometry. However, the lone electron pair on the nitrogen atom causes one of the tetrahedral angles to be compressed, resulting in a trigonal pyramidal shape.
