    Step 1: Prepare the Water

    Fill a clean glass or plastic container with water. Make sure the container is large enough to hold the water without spilling.

    Step 2: Add Electrodes

    Place two electrodes into the water. The electrodes should be made of a conductive material, such as graphite or platinum. The electrodes should be spaced a few centimeters apart.

    Step 3: Connect the Electrodes to a Power Source

    Connect the positive electrode to the positive terminal of a power source. Connect the negative electrode to the negative terminal of the power source.

    Step 4: Turn on the Power Source

    Turn on the power source. This will cause an electric current to flow through the water.

    Step 5: Observe the Water

    You should see bubbles forming on the electrodes. The bubbles on the positive electrode will be filled with hydrogen gas. The bubbles on the negative electrode will be filled with oxygen gas.

    Step 6: Collect the Hydrogen Gas

    Use a glass or plastic tube to collect the hydrogen gas from the positive electrode. The tube should be placed over the electrode so that the bubbles rise into the tube.

    Step 7: Store the Hydrogen Gas

    Store the hydrogen gas in a safe container. The container should be airtight and made of a material that does not react with hydrogen gas.

    Step 8: Clean Up

    Turn off the power source and disconnect the electrodes. Remove the electrodes from the water. Rinse the container and the electrodes with water.

    Here are a few additional tips for separating hydrogen in water:

    - Use distilled water to prevent impurities from interfering with the process.

    - Use a low voltage power source to prevent the water from boiling.

    - Keep the electrodes clean to ensure good electrical contact.

    - Collect the hydrogen gas in a cool, dry place.
