  • Quartz and Hydrochloric Acid: Does It React?
Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed primarily of silicon and oxygen atoms arranged in a repeating hexagonal lattice. It is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth, found in a wide variety of geological settings. Quartz does not react with hydrochloric acid, so it will not fizz when a drop of HCl is added to it.
