Chloride Ions in CaCl2: Calculating Moles
One mole of CaCl2 contains two moles of chloride ions (Cl-). This is because CaCl2 dissociates into Ca2+ and 2Cl- ions in water. Therefore, a sample of salt that contains one mole CaCl2 will contain two moles of chloride ions.
