  • RbBr: Acid or Base? Understanding the Properties of Rubidium Bromide
RbBr is a salt and neither an acid nor a base. It is formed by the reaction of a strong base (rubidium hydroxide, RbOH) and a strong acid (hydrobromic acid, HBr). When dissolved in water, RbBr dissociates into its constituent ions, Rb+ and Br-, and does not undergo any significant proton transfer reactions that would characterize it as an acid or a base.
