  • Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH): Homogeneous or Heterogeneous?
Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also known as caustic soda or lye, is not a homogeneous mixture. It is a white solid compound that dissolves in water to form a homogeneous mixture called sodium hydroxide solution or sodium hydrate. The sodium hydroxide solution is a homogeneous mixture because the solute (sodium hydroxide) is evenly distributed throughout the solvent (water).
