    * Salt water: Salt and water form a homogeneous mixture when dissolved together. The salt particles are evenly distributed throughout the water, and the mixture appears clear.

    * Air: Air is a homogeneous mixture of various gases, including nitrogen, oxygen, and argon. The gases are evenly distributed throughout the air, and the mixture appears colorless and transparent.

    * Alloys: Alloys are homogeneous mixtures of two or more metals. The metals are evenly distributed throughout the alloy, and the mixture appears uniform.

    Heterogeneous Mixtures

    Heterogeneous mixtures are not uniform throughout and have a variable composition. The components of a heterogeneous mixture are not evenly distributed throughout the mixture and are distinguishable from one another. Examples of heterogeneous mixtures include:

    * Oil and water: Oil and water do not mix together to form a homogeneous mixture. The oil and water separate into two distinct layers, with the oil floating on top of the water.

    * Sand and water: Sand and water do not mix together to form a homogeneous mixture. The sand settles at the bottom of the container, while the water remains on top.

    * Granite: Granite is a heterogeneous mixture of various minerals, including quartz, feldspar, and mica. The minerals are not evenly distributed throughout the granite, and the mixture appears speckled.
