  • Zinc Nitrate and Sodium Hydroxide Reaction: Products & Equation
The product of the reaction between \(Zn(NO_3)_2\) and \(NaOH\) is zinc hydroxide, \(Zn(OH)_2\), and sodium nitrate, \(NaNO_3\). The reaction can be represented by the following equation:

    $$Zn(NO_3)_2 + 2NaOH \rightarrow Zn(OH)_2 + 2NaNO_3$$

In this reaction, the \(Zn^{2+}\) ions from \(Zn(NO_3)_2\) react with the \(OH^-\) ions from \(NaOH\) to form zinc hydroxide, a white precipitate. The \(NO_3^-\) ions from \(Zn(NO_3)_2\) and the \(Na^+\) ions from \(NaOH\) remain in solution, forming sodium nitrate, a soluble salt.
