  • Covalent Bonds: Understanding the Composition of Hydrogen and Water
    Covalent compounds.

In a covalent bond, two or more atoms share one or more pairs of electrons. This creates a strong attraction between the atoms, holding them together in a molecule. Hydrogen gas is composed of two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded together, and water is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom covalently bonded together.
