  • Dry Ice Production: Equipment, Process & Safety Guide
To make dry ice, you will need the following materials:

    -A carbon dioxide tank

    -A pressure regulator

    -An expansion valve

    -A dry ice press

    -Safety goggles

    -Gloves

    Instructions:

    1. Put on your safety goggles and gloves.

    2. Connect the carbon dioxide tank to the pressure regulator.

    3. Adjust the pressure regulator to the desired pressure (typically around 800 psi).

    4. Connect the pressure regulator to the expansion valve.

    5. Open the expansion valve.

    6. The carbon dioxide will expand and turn into dry ice.

    7. Collect the dry ice in the dry ice press.

    8. Let the dry ice sit for a few minutes so that it can solidify.

    9. Transfer the dry ice to a freezer.

Dry ice is extremely cold (-109.3 degrees Fahrenheit), so it is important to take precautions when handling it. Be sure to wear gloves and goggles, and avoid touching the dry ice with your bare hands. Also, store dry ice in a well-ventilated area away from flammable materials.
