    To determine the molar mass of an ionic compound, you can simply add up the atomic masses of the individual ions that make up the compound. For example, the molar mass of sodium chloride (NaCl) would be the atomic mass of sodium (22.99 g/mol) plus the atomic mass of chlorine (35.45 g/mol), which is 58.44 g/mol.
