  • Covalent Bonds & Electron Shell Stability: A Key to Chemical Properties
    Covalent compounds achieve stability by forming full outer electron shells. Atoms become more stable when they acquire a complete set of valence electrons, known as the noble gas configuration. In a covalent bond, atoms accomplish this by sharing electrons. As a result, each shared electron pair contributes to a complete outer shell, creating a more stable electronic structure for both atoms involved in the bond.
