  • Freezing: Understanding the Solidification Process
The process of a liquid becoming solid by removing heat is called freezing. During freezing, the molecules in the liquid lose energy and slow down, allowing them to arrange themselves into a more ordered, rigid structure characteristic of a solid. Freezing is the reverse process of melting, which occurs when a solid becomes liquid upon heating.
