    Fire Extinguishers: CO₂ is commonly used as an extinguishing agent in fire extinguishers. It works by displacing oxygen and smothering the fire, effectively extinguishing it without leaving any residue.

    Food Processing: Carbon dioxide plays an essential role in the food industry. It helps preserve the freshness, quality, and color of perishable food items. It is used for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), controlled atmosphere storage (CA), and freezing to extend the shelf life of products.

    Medical Applications: CO₂ is used in various medical procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries, laser treatments, and therapeutic bathing (carbonic acid baths). In hospitals, it is commonly employed as a carrier gas for medical gases and can also be used for sedation during medical procedures.
