  • LiOH: Ionic or Covalent? Understanding Lithium Hydroxide
    Ionic compound.

Lithium hydroxide (LiOH) is an ionic compound consisting of positively charged lithium ions (Li+) and negatively charged hydroxide ions (OH-).

In LiOH, the lithium atom loses one electron to the oxygen atom, resulting in the formation of a positively charged lithium ion and a negatively charged hydroxide ion. These ions are then attracted to each other by electrostatic forces, forming an ionic bond.
