  • Methane Solubility in Liquid Nitrogen: A Detailed Explanation
Methane is only slightly soluble in liquid nitrogen at atmospheric pressure. The solubility of methane in liquid nitrogen at atmospheric pressure and -196 °C is 0.0032 g/L. However, the solubility of methane increases significantly with increasing pressure. For example, the solubility of methane in liquid nitrogen at 5 atm and -196 °C is 1.2 g/L.
