  • Aerobic Bacteria: Types, Examples & Their Roles
    Bacteria that need oxygen to grow are called aerobic bacteria.

    Here are some examples of aerobic bacteria:

    * Mycobacterium tuberculosis: Causes tuberculosis

    * Escherichia coli: Found in the gut and can cause food poisoning

    * Staphylococcus aureus: Can cause skin infections and other illnesses

    * Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Can cause infections in the lungs, skin, and urinary tract

    * Bacillus subtilis: Used in food production and other industrial applications

    These bacteria use oxygen as their final electron acceptor in cellular respiration, which is the process they use to generate energy. Without oxygen, they cannot survive.
