  • Diploid Cells: Function, Importance & Genetic Diversity Explained
    Diploid cells are cells that contain two sets of chromosomes, one set from each parent. This is in contrast to haploid cells, which only have one set of chromosomes.

    Here's the purpose of diploid cells:

    * Evolutionary Advantage: Diploid organisms have a higher tolerance to harmful mutations and are better able to adapt to changing environments compared to haploid organisms.
