    The longest cell in the human body is a nerve cell, also known as a neuron.

    While some neurons are quite short, others can be incredibly long, spanning the entire length of your body. For example, the neurons that control your toes can have axons (the long, thin projections of a neuron) that stretch from your spinal cord all the way down to your feet!
