    Cell division is a fundamental process in all living organisms, but there are some key differences between animal and plant cells during this process. Here's a breakdown:

    1. Cytokinesis (Cell Division)

    * Animal Cells: Cytokinesis occurs through a process called cleavage furrow formation. The plasma membrane pinches inward, forming a furrow that eventually divides the cell into two daughter cells. This process is driven by microfilaments made of actin and myosin.

    * Plant Cells: Plant cells have rigid cell walls, so they can't use cleavage furrow formation. Instead, they form a cell plate in the middle of the dividing cell. The cell plate is built from vesicles derived from the Golgi apparatus, which fuse together and deposit cell wall material. This eventually forms a new cell wall that separates the two daughter cells.

    2. Centrioles

    * Animal Cells: Animal cells typically have centrioles, which are small, cylindrical structures that play a role in organizing microtubules during cell division. They are involved in forming the spindle fibers, which help separate chromosomes.

    * Plant Cells: Plant cells lack centrioles. Instead, microtubules organize themselves directly from the cytoplasm during mitosis.

    3. Cell Wall Formation

    * Animal Cells: Animal cells do not form cell walls during division. They rely on the plasma membrane to enclose the cell.

    * Plant Cells: Plant cells must form a new cell wall between the two daughter cells. As mentioned before, this process involves the formation of a cell plate during cytokinesis.

    4. Other Differences

    * Mitosis: The basic process of mitosis is similar in both plant and animal cells. However, plant cells have a slightly different arrangement of microtubules during prophase.

    * Growth: Plant cells often continue to grow and expand after division, while animal cells typically reach a specific size and then stop growing.
