  • Shared Characteristics of Eukaryotic Cells: Protists, Fungi, Plants & Animals
The cells of protists, fungi, plants, and animals all share these key features:

    * They are all eukaryotic cells. This means they have a true nucleus enclosed by a membrane, as well as other membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus.

    * They have a plasma membrane. This outer layer regulates what enters and exits the cell.

    * They have cytoplasm. This is the gel-like substance that fills the cell and contains the organelles.

    * They have ribosomes. These are responsible for protein synthesis.

    * They have DNA. This is the genetic material of the cell, contained within the nucleus.

While these are fundamental similarities, it's important to remember that each group has its own unique characteristics and adaptations that distinguish them.
