    The cell organelle that provides turgidity and rigidity to a plant cell is the vacuole.

    Here's why:

    * Turgor pressure: Vacuoles are large, fluid-filled sacs that can occupy a significant portion of a plant cell's volume. They store water and dissolved substances, creating hydrostatic pressure against the cell wall, known as turgor pressure.

    * Rigidity: Turgor pressure pushes the cell membrane against the cell wall, giving the plant cell its rigid structure and shape. This is crucial for maintaining the plant's upright form and allowing it to withstand external forces.

    Without sufficient turgor pressure, plant cells would become flaccid and the plant would wilt.
