    The two ways that the growth of an organism can be accomplished through events in the cell cycle are:

This growth is essential for the cell to be able to divide successfully and contribute to the overall growth of the organism.

    Therefore, both cell division and cell growth are crucial for the growth of an organism by increasing the number of cells and the size of individual cells, respectively.
