  • Cell Walls: Structure & Composition in Bacteria and Plant Cells
The structure found on the outside of the cell membrane in bacteria and plant cells is the cell wall.

    * In bacteria, the cell wall is made of peptidoglycan, a complex polymer that provides structural support and protection.

    * In plant cells, the cell wall is made of cellulose, a complex carbohydrate that provides rigidity and shape.

While both bacteria and plants have cell walls, their composition and structure differ significantly.
