  • Louis Pasteur and the Theory of Biogenesis: A Scientific Breakthrough
The French chemist who provided strong evidence for the theory of biogenesis was Louis Pasteur.

He conducted a series of famous experiments in the 1860s, using swan-neck flasks. These experiments conclusively demonstrated that:

    * Microorganisms do not spontaneously generate from non-living matter.

    * Life can only arise from pre-existing life.

Pasteur's work refuted the prevailing theory of spontaneous generation and provided strong support for the theory of biogenesis.
