  • Bacterial Chromosomes: Understanding the Single Circular DNA Structure
    The single loop of DNA found in bacteria is called a chromosome.

    While eukaryotic cells have multiple linear chromosomes within their nucleus, bacteria have a single, circular chromosome located in a region called the nucleoid. This chromosome contains all of the genetic information necessary for the bacteria to function and reproduce.
