  • DNA Composition: Understanding the Building Blocks of Life
    DNA is primarily composed of nucleotides. Each nucleotide consists of three parts:

    * A sugar molecule: This is deoxyribose in DNA.

    * A phosphate group: This is a negatively charged molecule that links nucleotides together.

    * A nitrogenous base: There are four different nitrogenous bases in DNA:

    * Adenine (A)

    * Guanine (G)

    * Cytosine (C)

    * Thymine (T)

    The order of these bases along the DNA molecule is what determines the genetic code.

    So, in essence, DNA is a long chain of nucleotides linked together by phosphate groups, with the sequence of bases carrying the genetic information.
