  • Understanding Homozygous Dominant Alleles: Definition & Explanation
Two dominant alleles are called homozygous dominant.

    Here's why:

    * Homozygous: Means having two identical alleles for a particular trait.

    * Dominant: Means that the allele will express its trait even if there's only one copy of it present.

So, if an individual has two copies of the dominant allele, we say they are homozygous dominant for that trait.
