  • Eukaryotic Cells: Understanding the Nucleus
If a cell contains a nucleus, it must be eukaryotic.

    Here's why:

    * Eukaryotic cells are complex cells that have a true nucleus enclosed within a membrane. This nucleus houses the cell's genetic material (DNA).

    * Prokaryotic cells are simpler cells that lack a membrane-bound nucleus. Their DNA is located in a region called the nucleoid, but it's not enclosed within a separate membrane.

Therefore, the presence of a nucleus is a defining characteristic of eukaryotic cells.
