  • Dendrites: The Neuron's Information Receiver - Neuron Structure Explained
The structure in a neuron that receives information from another nerve cell is the dendrite.

    Here's why:

    * Dendrites are branched, tree-like structures that extend from the cell body of a neuron. They are specialized to receive signals from other neurons through synapses.

    * Synapses are junctions where communication occurs between neurons. Neurotransmitters, chemical messengers, are released from the presynaptic neuron (the sending neuron) and bind to receptors on the dendrites of the postsynaptic neuron (the receiving neuron).

    * This process of signal transmission allows neurons to communicate with each other and form complex neural networks.
