    The non-scientific name often given to microorganisms is germs.

    While "germs" is a commonly used term, it's important to remember that it's not a scientifically accurate term. "Germs" can refer to a wide variety of microscopic organisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. Many of these microorganisms are actually beneficial or harmless to humans, while others can cause disease.
