    This is called competition.

    There are two main types of competition:

    * Interspecific competition: Competition between individuals of *different* species. For example, lions and hyenas competing for the same prey.

    * Intraspecific competition: Competition between individuals of the *same* species. For example, two male deer fighting for mating rights.

    Competition is a powerful force in shaping ecosystems and driving evolution.
