  • GnRH: Production, Secretion, and Role in Reproduction
GnRH (Gonadotropin-releasing hormone) is secreted and produced by neurons in the hypothalamus, a region of the brain located at the base of the brain.

These neurons are specifically located in the preoptic area and anterior hypothalamus. They release GnRH into the hypophyseal portal system, a network of blood vessels that connect the hypothalamus to the anterior pituitary gland.

GnRH then stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which are crucial for regulating the reproductive system in both males and females.
