  • Mitosis and Meiosis: Understanding Cell Reproduction
    There are two main ways a cell reproduces:

    * Mitosis: This is the process of cell division that results in two identical daughter cells. It's how our bodies grow and repair themselves.

    * Meiosis: This process creates four daughter cells, each with half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. This is how our sex cells (sperm and eggs) are produced.

    So, depending on the context, you could say:

    * The cell is dividing.

    * The cell is undergoing mitosis. (If it's producing two identical cells)

    * The cell is undergoing meiosis. (If it's producing sex cells)
