  • The Nucleus: Where DNA and Genetic Information Reside
The organelle that holds genetic information in the molecule DNA is the nucleus.

    Here's why:

    * DNA is the blueprint of life: It contains the instructions for building and maintaining an organism.

    * The nucleus is the control center of the cell: It houses the DNA and protects it from damage.

    * Chromosomes are located within the nucleus: These are long, thread-like structures composed of DNA and proteins.

While other organelles like mitochondria also have their own DNA, it's the nucleus that holds the majority of an organism's genetic information.
