  • Ribosomes: The Cytoplasmic Protein Synthesis Hub
The protein factories found in the cytoplasm are called ribosomes.

    Here's why:

    * Ribosomes are the sites of protein synthesis: They read the genetic code from messenger RNA (mRNA) and use that information to assemble amino acids into proteins.

    * Ribosomes are found throughout the cytoplasm: This allows them to access the mRNA transcripts produced in the nucleus and to translate them into proteins, which can then be used for various cellular functions.

It's important to note that while ribosomes are the primary protein factories, other structures in the cytoplasm also play a role in protein processing and modification, such as the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus.
